well we were in ga for a little over a month, and it still never seems like enough time. there were still lots of people that we just never got to see. we had a great time being about to spend time with family but its always good to be home.
josh actually went home about a week before us, and was able to get the house together before we got home. which was great, because after a 10 hour flight from charlotte back to hawaii i was ready to be home and ready for some sleep.
it was a very uneventful flight, and little miss was great. she napped, watched movies, colored, and just had a grand old time. thank goodness! i think alexi was actually happy to see her too.
now tomorrow its back to work and getting back onto a schedule.

busy friday
so friday was a very busy day for us. first vbs, then it was off to meet up with a great friend that i havent seen since we moved from ny-and as it worked out, she was going to be in ga for all of about a day while we were there. so little miss and i went to go meet up with michelle. little miss was so excited! she has missed her "aunt" michelle (we swear this is who little miss gets her tongue from). she was even more excited because i was explaining to her that michelle lives in new york city, which happens to be her favorite song by "they might be giants." little miss and michelle (and me) picked back up just like its only been a few weeks since we have last seen each other. (thats one of those amazing things about such great friends). it was great to be able to catch up with her for once in person! love ya michelle!

then it was back home to finish up dorries un-birthday cake (her b-day is not actually until august 2nd, but she wanted me to make her cake for her 21st b-day so it had to be now). the fashion diva wanted to help, and i always love teaching someone else something new :) and i have to say, she picked up on it pretty quick. so the whole family was over for dorrie's "b-day" and we probably had a little too much fun...sober i might add.....and luckily my mom had the camera handy. jt and wm. were doing belly flops, and then some dare-devil tricks with the chairs, tricycles, and bicycles, but it was a lot of fun. then it was time for cake. the little ones were just as excited as dorrie about the cake, but they just wanted to eat it :) so happy 21st "birthday" little sister!

vacation bible school (vbs)
we have done a lot of firsts this summer with little miss-disney, bowling, and now vbs. just like everything else- we explain it to her and she is really excited, but when it comes time for me to leave her there she freaks out and starts crying. it took me a while to calm her down and leave her with her group leaders, little man was even with her and tried talking to her. i think the thing that helped most was that i told her i had to help with the snacks and that if i didnt no one would get any snacks....and if you know my child....she loves to eat :)
the rest of the week i had dorrie take her into the opening celebrations and she did great, and even if she saw me during snacks she would still go with her group after snack time was over. everyday they had music time, bible story time, outside games, snacks, and crafts. she loved all of these! the theme was the rain forest and everything was tied into that theme. i helped out in the kitchen each morning with the snacks. so one morning we made pudding with "dirt and worms" and the kids got to layer the dirt and worms and then have fun eating it. another day we did chocolate covered bananas and then tropical fruit with fun colored fruit dip. so it was fun and something most all kids would eat and still tied into the rain forest theme. as did the crafts, and music, and all of the bible stories. i remember going to vbs at my grandmothers church in ky, and i always remember we had a lot of fun. but we def. didnt have themes or half of what they have these days! the fashion diva also got to participate and she loved learning the music and the dance moves that all went with it. mack-while she wont admit it- had fun too, but she was a group leader and got to help the kids with their stuff. they even got her on the last day, she thought she would be funny and not bring her bathing suit, but all of the kids helped to get her on the big water slides :)
it was really cool too, on the last day the kids did a program and all of the age groups got to participate and show the parents everything they had learned. even the little kids had fun.
here are a few pics of the whole week :)

fathers day
normally we are never home for father's day, but this year was different. it was nice to be able to actually celebrate father's day with not only josh, but with my dad too.
we went to church in the morning and then sent all the guys(fathers) off to play golf. which the guys knew about, but we didnt tell dad until about 2 hours before. :)
the guys had fun and the rest of us had fun playing in the lake. mom made an awesome dinner and i made a cookie cake for fathers day, out of the tons and tons of cookie dough that mom has :) jason and jennifer (soon to be parents or our new niece!) and barbara got to come down and hang out too. it was great to be able to spend time with the whole family on father's day.
dad- thanks for always being there for us, being a great role-model, and never giving up on us. you (and mom) have definitely made me into the person i am today. thank you.
josh-to a great husband and an even better father- thank you for all of the support you have always give to me and little miss, its worth everything to see her face light up every time she first sees you in the morning and when you get home from work.

1st time bowling!
so after a great time at the beach, and not a whole lot going on down at the lake, we decided to take the kids bowling....although little miss has never been before. (and my favorite story to tell at the fashion dive-and kind of how she got her name-is that the first time they were taking her bowling, she said she didnt want to go...the shoes were too ugly and wouldnt match her outfit-thats why we love her :)!)
so it was me, josh, jt and the girls and it was fun. it had been way too long since i had played and was def. not on the "a" game that i learned in college (yes i took a bowling class in college-and was the only girl in the class to get an a). there were 2 little redneck kids (its jackson, its pretty standard) working the counter, and luckily we were the only ones there because they were SLOW. it took us forever to get our pitcher of beer, little misses handy little ball rolling thing (yes thats the technical term). but once we finally got everything we needed the game was on.
mack and the fashion diva did pretty good, i think they both ended up with a few strikes and played good games when they tried :) little miss was having fun, but soon got bored having to wait for her turn. she started climbing on stuff and then tried to slide down the alley face first. it was pretty funny to watch though :) over all i think her first bowling experience was fun and when we get the chance to go again, she will love it even more :)

hollywood studios.....formerly known as mgm
i say formerly known as, because the last time i was at disney thats what it was called....and that was 21 years ago (man im old). i have to say, i think we had more fun here than we did at disney. it was a whole lot less crowded and there was a lot less stress getting into that one than disney.
little miss had a blast! we got there a little bit later than the rest of the crew and they had all gotten fast passes to the big kid rides. so i opted to take sara and just go see what else there was. and boy am i glad i did!
we got to meet all of the little einstein characters meet mater and lighting mcqueen and then we got to go into a mickey's club house show that was really cool. it minnies b-day and mickey and the gang were going to throw her a surprise party, but they needed help from handy manny, pooh and friends, and the little einsteins. they were all puppets that kept popping up out of different palaces in the stage and it kind of condensed each of the 3 shows into a 30 minute show. little miss could not have been any happier! and stuff fell from the ceiling after each problem was solved....even better!
we all took turns riding the the aerosmith ride and tower of terror, both were awesome! and the lines started to clear out as the park got closer to closing....even better! we also got to watch some really awesome shows too. they had an indiana jones stunt show which even the little ones like, and me and mom took little miss and little man to go see the little mermaid show, which both of the loved! we were going to try and hit the beauty and the beast show, but little miss passed out! all in all it was a great day and we all had a blast!

disney!!!
so this is little misses first time to disney, and she is excited....although im not sure who is more exited, me or her. its been since i was 10 since we have been to disney and back then i was still pretty short and a little scared of some of the rides. so i was ready to prove myself and ready to have some fun.
we drove over to orlando from daytona on sunday night so that we wouldnt have to get an as early of a start the next morning. we got a hotel room at one of the value resorts and enjoyed a nice sleep. then it was off to disney in the morning. we rode the bus over to disney and had a little bit of a rough start getting the tickets and everyone in the same place to go in together. once we were all in we made our way over to space mountain got some fast passes to come back later, got josh, dad, jt, and the fashion princess in line for a ride and then little miss, me, mom, and mack headed over to the crystal palace for lunch with winnie the pooh and friends. the food was okay, and so not worth the price, but the look on little misses face when she got to meet each of them was awesome. the cool part about doing the character meals is that they come around to your table to greet you. you dont have to track them down and wait in line like you do everywhere else. mack even had a good time, even though she swears people in costume freak her out.
after lunch we met up with everyone else and got down to some rides. we hit up all the good ones...space mountain, peter pan, the haunted mansion, its a small world, the tea cups, the train, and the water ride, the gas cars, quite a few parades, and im sure a few of the others that i will think of later. mom took little man and little miss to tom sawyers island to play while the big kids did some of the big rides. it was a super hot day, and super humid, but we all trucked through and had a great day.
although i have to say our biggest disappointment was that we didnt see a single princess......anywhere. but at least we did get into one of stores near the castle and they sprinkled fairy dust on sara and made her a princess :) she loved that! and she had glitter in her hair for a few days!
