then my husband being the wonderful husband that he is, brings home a box of krispy kreme donuts saturday morning after his trip to the driving range. not sure if he was sucking up so he could go back to the driving range today or what....but either way i will take it! we don't come by krispy kreme's here often, they have to be shipped, or i guess flown over from the store in maui, so when we do get them they are at least an hour old (its only a 25 min flight) and then how ever long it takes them to actually distribute them and the people to sell them as fund raisers.....need less to say thats a lot. but on this glorious saturday my husband got a box :) and why shouldnt i eat one (or 2) for lunch, you cant put a box of KK's in front of me and not let me eat one, thats just mean. especially when its been over a year since i had one last ( we actually went to maui for a trip and i made them stop for a few). but i was able to contain myself and save some for breakfast for sunday morning....in which little miss ate 2 :) i think they were the best krispy kreme's ever!!

weekend of breakfast foods
this weekend started off like any other...what to fix for saturday morning breakfast? we tend to have a routine of making cinnamon rolls or apple turn overs, but i was in the mood for something different. little miss (my daughter) who, when given the chance will ask for pancakes and bacon(a southern girl at heart)had not spoken up yet, so i decided waffles...and not just any waffles...i pulled out our handy dandy belgin waffle maker and put it to work...not bad considering it hasn't see the light of day since it was put into its cabinet almost 2 years about. i just used the waffle recipe on the back of the healthy bisquick and set to work. little miss also loves to bake and never misses a chance to help stir or crack eggs. then we cut up a banana, added the lite syrup and some powdered sugar for fun.

in the beginning
so i am giving this blogging thing a shot. i will say i was "challenged" by a friend, but really i asked her if she wanted to do a challenge and i am leaving it at that. i am one of those people that need motivation so by me "challenging" me, that is my motivation to try and keep up with this.
so a few of my favorite things include my husband, daughter, and our dog, baking, music, movies, reading, and soccer-playing and coaching. so you can only image the many things i can find to write about and all of the sub-categories that fall under those. although i can take a guess and image that one of the many re-occuring themes will be the crazy things my daughter does and baking--or the things i bake......and pictures of the things i bake, or my crazy daughter.
a little bit about me before we get this thing started....i am about to turn 31, i just started going back to school for a degree in the culinary arts- to become a pastry chef (see where the baking stuff comes in), i play soccer as well as coach a u-14 girls team, i am married to a wonderful man and we have a 3 year old daughter and a 6 year old chocolate lab. there is always something going on in our house. oh yeah, we live in hawaii.
